There Is A Great, New Local Food Experience in Scottsville, Virginia

Cyclists can not survive on riding and caffeine alone... We also require food, and I have found a great, new place that you should try if you find yourself near the historic town of Scottsville, in Central Virginia.

Country Blessings Local Food's has just opened on Main Street (actually addess is 20 Valley Street). It is easy to find though, look for the first building on your left after the James River Bridge if your heading North, or the last on your right if heading South on Highway 20.

Country Blessing's offers a wide variety of Virginia products with the majority coming from within a 50 mile radius. Products from well-known, local sources and local organic produce, a great varity of  Wines From Virginia Vineyards: and Great Mirco-Brews FromVeritas Virginia Breweries.

The Deli/Grocery Carries Regional and International Food and Cheeses

They also serve Breakfast, Lunch, Weekend Brunch (which I really like) and are open until 8PM every night,

Their menu includes Pizzas (Be sure to try the Deep Dish!), Strombolis, Calzones, Sandwiches (Deli &; Grilled), Paninis, Burgers (hormone-free beef),  Gyros (Whowould have ever thgouth you Salads, Home-Made Sides.

I guess Virginia can have some bad weather too, but nothing like Oklahoma's 'Tornado Alley' or Tucson's 'monsoons'

The Tour de Chesapeake is a weekend cycling event along the scenic and flat roads of Mathews County, Virginia. It is the perfect way to start your cycling season and warm up for Bike Virginia.

Join a thousand other riders in bicycling flat, rural Mathews County, located on the western shore of the southern Chesapeake Bay. Never more than ½ mile from water, Mathews features quiet and picturesque roadways for cycling.

The Tour de Chesapeake is perfect as a family biking adventure. It will also give the intermediate rider and the experienced veteran a perfect spring warm-up. Various routes are available on the Tour de Chesapeake, so that you can choose the mileage you desire. The Tour de Chesapeake is as close to a “create your own personal tour” as you’ll find.

Mileage options range between 15 - 62 miles.

All routes have fully-supported rest stops, route signage and SAG support. Routes open at 7:30 am and close at 5 pm.

The Tour de Chesapeake Tour Book that you receive at registration will have a color map and complete details on all of the rides available. Be sure to attend orientation when you arrive.
